We’re always on top of the latest Marvel movie buzz, but this new release? It’s way more than just another trailer drop. Let’s check it out!
After several years and iterations, Marvel’s first family is officially stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)!
Marvel Studios dropped the teaser trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps on February 4th (very fitting), and we have to admit, it was pretty fantastic!
The film, directed by Matt Shakman, features Pedro Pascal as the brainy and bendy Reed Richards, (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby storming in as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn lighting up the screen as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach rocking the role of Ben Grimm (The Thing).

The trailer sets us off into a 1960s retro-futuristic world where the Fantastic Four resides, putting us in the middle of their story. Though the film will not focus on the origins of this super-powered group, it will take us on a journey of them finding their footing as the family we know and love.
The trailer is full of fun easter eggs and beloved references, like a look at the iconic Baxter Building (where the Fantastic Four famously resides) and the appearance of H.E.R.B.I.E (as seen in the 1978 The New Fantastic Four cartoon).

Despite not being an origin story, we’re sure the film will include plenty of references to their iconic start, as suggested by scenes in the trailer. The plot follows the Fantastic Four as they protect Earth from the arrival of the cosmic entity Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner.)

At its core, this film is all about family. The trailer showcases heartwarming moments, like the team gathering for their Sunday dinner—a tradition that even supervillains can’t interrupt. Sue Storm’s line, “Whatever life throws at us, we’ll face it together as a family,” proves that they are more than just a superhero team, and we’re excited to see these legendary characters come to life.

This might be the Fantastic Four’s first steps into the MCU but they definitely aren’t small The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be launching into theaters on July 25th, 2025.
