The new Disney Treasure cruise ship just reached a HUGE milestone.
This brand-new ship will be the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and it is officially on the move!
On September 18th, 2024, the Disney Treasure made its way out of the Meyer Werft shipyard via tugboat. It is headed towards open water for the very first time! There were even people out to wave farewell to the massive ship. Construction on this new ship began in January 2023, and now the ship is one step closer to welcoming passengers onboard.
The captain of the Disney Treasure, Captain Marco, will be stepping onboard to oversee the sea trials for the Disney Treasure. The ship will undergo rigorous tests to ensure it is ready for its upcoming transatlantic journey.
The Disney Treasure’s maiden voyage is scheduled for December 21st, 2024, which will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral. This ship will celebrate “Walt Disney’s lifelong love of adventure.”
Onboard the Disney Treasure, there will be three restaurants that are a part of Disney Cruise Line’s signature Rotational Dining. These restaurants include Plaza de Coco, Worlds of Marvel, and 1923. In addition to these restaurants, there will also be four different lounges including the HIGHLY anticipated Haunted Mansion Parlor.
There are also options for casual dining like Marceline Market, as well as cafes and sweet shops. You can also enjoy a wide variety of entertainment onboard including productions of Beauty and the Beast and Disney Seas the Adventure — and a NEW show: Disney The Tale of Moana.
We can’t wait to step aboard this new ship at the end of the year, and of course try out all the amazing food! Want to find out even more about cruising on Disney Cruise Line? Well, we have your ULTIMATE guide to Disney Cruise Line in 2024 that you need to check out:
