Disney Confirms NEW RIDE and Location for 'Avatar' Land

We’ve been bringing you ALL the announcements from D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim near the Disneyland Resort from August 9th to 11th. We’re talking about all things Disney movies, parks, cruises, and more. Disney just dropped some major details on the Pandora: World of Avatar expansion at Disneyland we’re sharing everything we know so far!

The announcements start coming and they don’t stop coming — especially at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event! We’ve been taking in all the news and it doesn’t look like we’ll be stopping anytime soon, either, because Disney just announced that a new Avatar experience is coming to Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort!

The new area of Pandora will be different than the one in Animal Kingdom and will feature new exciting sights and experiences.

An Avatar experience inspired by the recent Avatar film “The Way of Water” will come to Disney California Adventure and will provide guests an all-new experience in Pandora not previously seen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. (Disney)

The new destination will have all-new adventures that explore Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and more upcoming Avatar films. There will also be a brand-new ride!

You’ll explore new areas of Pandora in a “thrilling excursion that will bring all the action, excitement, and wonder of Avatar, taking guests all the way to the wide-open seas of Pandora,” according to Disney.

Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger shared that a new Avatar land could be coming to Disneyland! Iger stated, “We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in California.” Similar to what was created in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park in Disney World, could make its way to California. And now it has officially been confirmed!

While we don’t have many details so far, we do know that we’re pretty darn excited about this upcoming addition to Disneyland! Make sure you’ve got your calendars marked and alarms set for the headline events taking place each night at 7PM in the Honda Center.
