ALL ABOARD!
The Disney Destiny will be a sister ship to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, and Disney revealed that the ship will have a first-of-its-kind design theme. Disney is dropping all sorts of announcements about this ship, and we just got news about what sort of MARVEL experiences will be on board!
Aboard the Disney Destiny, you must choose a side: Heroes or Villains. The ship’s theme will be inspired by Disney Heroes and Villains and will draw “on the legacies of beloved Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions.” And, Disney just shared all about the Marvel experiences that will be coming to the Destiny!
As soon as you board the Destiny, you’ll be greeted with a statue of King T’Challa, the Black Panther! Disney took inspiration from Wakanda and the Black Panther films when designing the Great Hall. There’s also a large light fixture inspired by Vibranium, the rare metallic ore the fictional nation is known for.
The Sanctum will be Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by Doctor Strange and his mystical arts! This space will be centrally located and will “contain mystical items designed to aid sorcerers in protecting the world,” while also featuring entertainment, cocktails, coffees, and “unique surprises from Doctor Strange’s New York Sanctum, including a circular mirror behind the bar that evokes the building’s iconic window.”
The Destiny Tower Suite is a Marvel-inspired penthouse inspired by Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. The one-of-a-kind suite features nearly 2,000 square feet of living space…
…and will sleep eight guests with designated areas for eating and sleeping — plus a full kitchen and private ensuite elevator.
Off the Grand Hall on decks four and five you’ll find Saga — “a central hub for daytime family activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment.” Saga is a two-story venue that will host interactive shows and events, inspired by the architecture of Wakanda.
For the first time in Disney Cruise Line history, a Marvel hero will be the signature character featured on the ship’s stern — and of course, Spider-Man was the only choice! He even brought along his Spider-Bots.
The Destiny will also feature a Worlds of Marvel restaurant (like the Disney Wish and upcoming Disney Treasure!)…
…and a Marvel Super Hero Academy!
According to Disney, Imagineers were “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.” Look out for both heroes and villains onboard the ship, including characters from The Lion King, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, and Hercules. Disney teased new spaces, experiences, and entertainment on the ship inspired by the heroes and villains of those popular Disney films.
Currently, the ship is scheduled for delivery in 2025 and will join the Disney Cruise Line’s new fleet of ships, including the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and the Disney Adventure, which will have a homeport in Singapore. Stay tuned for booking information and more!
