REVIEW: Disney World's NEW Cake Batter Cannoli Left Us With One Important Question…

There is so much to do at Disney Springs! A new drone show called “Disney Dreams That Soar” just debuted in May, and Disney Springs is jam-packed with restaurants and shops. Plus, you can find a variety of live entertainment throughout Disney Springs.

We are always on the hunt to make sure we keep all of our readers up to date on the latest food offerings at Disney World. Disney Springs is constantly introducing new offerings and rotating through options, and we are headed over to Vivoli il Gelato to try out a treat for Pride Month!

Vivoli il Gelato is located in The Landing area of Disney Springs, near The BOATHOUSE and Gideon’s Bakehouse. They offer a variety of gelato and sorbetto, as well as milkshakes, pastries, coffee, and more. Vivoli il Gelato uses the same recipes as their original storefront in Florence, Italy and the store even imports several ingredients directly from Italy! In addition to their normal menu, Vivoli il Gelato also offers a seasonal menu with offerings that change pretty consistently. The store is offering a treat for Pride Month, and we are here to try it out!

Today we are grabbing the Cake Batter Cannoli from Vivoli il Gelato. The cannoli is filled with sweet cream of ricotta and cake batter topped with rainbow sprinkles. You can grab this treat for $7.75. We have seen this cannoli at Vivoli il Gelato before, but it has been a bit since we have seen it (the last time was in 2021.) This cannoli is here for a limited time, and you can only get it until July 31st.

The cannoli was not super sweet which we really enjoyed. The filling was light with a strong cream cheese flavor to it. We tasted the slightest hint of cake batter flavor in the filling. We thought the shell was quite crispy, although slightly dry. However, the filling helped make up for the bit of dryness to the shell. The shell doesn’t have much flavor, but the crispy texture worked well with the filling.

The sprinkles don’t add much flavor-wise, but they are a fun addition and have a soft texture, so you don’t feel like you are trying to chew through crispy bits. Plus, you can’t really have a cake batter flavor without some colorful sprinkles! However, we were left with an important question, where is the cake batter flavor? We got a slight hint of it in the filling, but this mostly just tasted like a regular cannoli.

We probably would not have guessed this was a Cake Batter Cannoli unless we knew ahead of time, as the cake batter flavor was fairly light. We felt that it was a mostly authentic cannoli with a tiny smidge of cake batter flavor in the filling. We don’t think you need to rush over to Vivoli Il Gelato to pick-up this treat, but if you are in the area, it is a tasty treat! Just don’t go in expecting an overpowering cake batter flavor and we think you will enjoy it. You can grab this cannoli from June 1st through July 31st, 2024.
