It can be SO hard to choose what shows to watch these days!
With the variety of streaming services out there, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the movie and TV show options. And coming soon, Disney is changing up some of its offerings…so here’s what you need to know!
According to Deadline, Raven-Symoné is extending her relationship with Disney after the end of her TV series Raven’s Home. The show ended after its 6th season and will not return for a 7th, but Raven-Symoné has entered a deal with Disney to executive produce and direct the sitcom Alice in the Palace, which has received a pilot order.
Alice in the Palace is a spinoff of Raven’s Home, starring the show’s character Alice. It will follow the same multi-camera sitcom format as its predecessor. Alice in the Palace picks up with Alice (who is Raven’s young cousin) returning to England and reuniting with her doppelganger, Duchess Clementine. It’s your classic “swapping places” storyline, where each girl will get the chance to live the other’s lifestyle for a little while.
Outside of this, there are some other new entertainment offerings Disney’s releasing as well! The Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series now has a title — Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Disney shared photos of Selena Gomez and David Henrie reprising their roles for the new series, and Gomez will also serve as the executive producer. The internet went absolutely WILD when this show was announced back in January, so we know that plenty of Disney adults will be hyped for this one!
Disney shares the series synopsis as follows:
“The series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.”
And finally, last year Disney announced ZOMBIES: The Re-Animated Show as a new spinoff cartoon series for fans of the ZOMBIES movies on Disney Channel. The new series has now been added to the Disney+ website and is listed as “coming soon.” So if you’re hyped for some new content with Zed, Addison, and friends, then now is the time!
