Magic Kingdom is magical in many different ways. There are characters to meet, delicious snacks to try, and so many attractions to make memories on.
However, it can be pretty overwhelming at times, too. That’s why we’re here — to help break things down to be more manageable and help you prepare for your next trip. We have some great former Cast Members on our team too, and here are 4 things they say to NEVER try to do in Magic Kingdom.
Attempt To Rope Drop A Part of The Park That Isn’t Open Yet
When Magic Kingdom opens for Disney World Hotel guests that have Early Entry, the whole park doesn’t open at once. Typically Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and Adventureland will all open with Early Entry, but Liberty Square and Frontierland will not. Don’t try to head to those areas!
Not only will you not be able to do anything in these lands, but it means you’re missing valuable park time getting in line for other popular attractions that will have long lines throughout the day like Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Space Mountain.
Walking Up To Main Street U.S.A. 5 Minutes Before the Fireworks
While fireworks are some of guests’ favorite part of the day, Cast Members have to work very hard to make sure everyone is safe before, during, and after. This means making sure guests aren’t in the “wrong” areas of the park before and during the fireworks, as well as making sure they know where to go for the best fireworks viewing.
This is a popular event, as previously said, so if you’re walking up to Main Street U.S.A. with just 5 minutes to go until fireworks with a big group of people, things are about to get frustrating. Everyone’s already staked out their spot, some of them for an hour, so you’re not going to be able to get up to the front to get a view. You’ll likely be at the back of Main Street, which is great because of those projections, but it’s still going to be a struggle to get everyone standing together right before the show begins.
Wait Over 30 Minutes to Meet Mickey
We love Mickey Mouse just as much as you do, but we highly suggest not waiting over 30 minutes to meet him in Magic Kingdom at Town Square Theatre.
If you’re heading to other parks on your vacation, we suggest waiting to meet him in EPCOT or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, because he often has WAY shorter waits. Now, if you’re really set on meeting him in Magic Kingdom, we say go for it, BUT wait until the line drops around parade and fireworks times!
Here are ALL the character meet and greets you can find around Disney World!
Ask Your Rideshare Driver To Drop You Off At The Magic Kingdom Bus Station
Magic Kingdom is the only park that doesn’t have a parking lot right in front of the park — you’ll need to park your car and then take the Monorail or Ferry over to Magic Kingdom. Now, a Disney Bus will take you directly to the front of the park, but you can’t ask your rideshare driver to take you to the bus terminal.
If you do, you’ll both be very confused — they’ll be wondering what you mean when you’re frustrated you’ve ended up at the Ticket and Transportation Center, and you’ll be adamant that the TTC is NOT the bus terminal. But rideshare drivers can’t take you directly to the Magic Kingdom, only Disney buses — and Minnie Vans — can. We know, it’s a little frustrating, but it is the way it is!
We’re always here to help you plan for your next Disney World trip, so stay tuned to DFB!
