Things are always changing in Disneyland — after all, that’s what Walt Disney wanted.
Rides close and new rides arrive. Entire lands get updated. New lands get added. Expansions are planned. Restaurants also close. That last bit might be the saddest part for us, by the way. We learned recently that a restaurant would close in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney dining and shopping district, but we’ve got some good news: the restaurant has delayed its closing date by a week.
We recently told you that Tortilla Jo’s in Downtown Disney would permanently close on March 31st, 2024. Well, that closing date has changed. The restaurant will now close a week later, on April 7th. You’ll be able to make reservations for Tortilla Jo’s up through that date on the Disneyland app. Walk-in dining will also be available through its final day.
As much as we’re going to miss that tableside guacamole (seriously, SO good), Downtown Disney will be getting three NEW Mexican restaurants by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán. Look out for Paseo, Centrico, and Tiendita. Tiendita will be a counter-service location, offering up Chef Gaytán’s “heritage flavors on the go, with quick service Mexican street-food staples” like Esquites and Tacos al Pastor.
So if you’re wanting to order up that amazing guacamole, you’ll have one extra week to get over to Tortilla Jo’s. The counter service location Taqueria at Tortilla Jo’s, which offers customizable tacos, burritos, and bowls, will also be closing.
