We can’t praise Disney Cast Members enough on this site.
Cast Members go above and beyond to make magic for us every day in Disney World. They often share their unique stories and their imaginative creations with us, making our trips even MORE magical. Well, if you love Cast Members as much as we do, February 25th marks the beginning of a special day that’s ALL about appreciating our favorite people at Disney World!
During our visit to Disney World, we saw a notice on the My Disney Experience app. Today (2/25) is the beginning of Global Recognition Week, a week where Disney encourages everyone to show appreciation for Cast Members. You can do that by sharing a compliment with the hashtag #CastCompliment on social media or by visiting City Hall in Magic Kingdom.
You can also recognize a Cast Member through the My Disney Experience app. To do that, open the app and click on the three bars in the bottom right corner. Scroll down until you see Cast Compliment. Tap on that, and you’ll be taken to the Mobile Cast Compliment section, where you can give special, personalized recognition to a Cast Member by entering their first name, hometown (or college), and date of interaction. The more information you can provide about the person who helped you, the better Disney can identify the Cast Member!
If you didn’t catch the Cast Member’s name, no problem! You can still leave a compliment by describing the location.
Of course, we encourage you to do this even when it ISN’T Global Recognition Week. If a Cast Member has done something to make your Disney World trip extra special, be sure to use this feature in the app to send them your thanks!
