The BIG Problem You’ll Face in Disney World This Weekend

We’re in the midst of one of Disney World’s busiest weeks of the year!

This particular week in February is both Mardi Gras and Presidents Day Weekend, which means that hoards of people have time off from school and work. We’ve been fighting some crowds in the parks for the past few days, but it’s likely to ramp up even more as we head into the weekend. And if you’re trying to head to the parks today, there might be an issue!

According to the Disney Park Pass availability calendar, all four parks are FULL for all ticket types today (Friday, February 16th). When we checked this morning, the calendar was grayed out for ticket holders and Annual Passholders. That’s wild!

But on top of that, the Individual Lightning Lanes sold out FAST today. Shortly before 10AM, all five of the rides with separately purchased Lightning Lanes were unavailable for the day, which means people were buying them UP this morning! These rides include Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Rise of the Resistance, and Flight of Passage.

So if you’re heading to the parks today and this weekend, you better be prepared! It looks like we’re about to experience some heavy crowds and long wait times. We had noticed a few weeks back that hotels were filling up rapidly for Presidents Day weekend, and now we’re seeing the effects of that.
