Three Disney World hotels allow you to walk to Magic Kingdom. At any other, you’ll need to take Disney transportation, a rideshare, or your own car.
These hotels are Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. If walking to the park is super important to you, here’s the CHEAPEST hotel room you can stay in to be close to Magic Kingdom.
The cheapest hotel of the three will often be Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which is conveniently also the closest to Magic Kingdom (about a 15 minute walk).
There are many different room types here, but if you’re looking at staying in the cheapest you can, you’ll want to go for a room in the Garden Wing. Specifically, one with a partially obstructed Resort View or a Water View. When we looked at a made-up stay between May 23rd and May 29th, 2024, these rooms ran at $619.33 and $670.50 respectively per night.
So what’s in these rooms? Well you’ll have a view of either the resort or the water, and each one can sleep up to 5 adults on two queen beds and one day bed. Both types of rooms also include a beverage cooler, a coffee/tea station, and a patio or balcony.
Are these rooms still expensive? Yes, absolutely, but they are the cheapest option available when you’re searching for an on-property hotel where you can walk to Magic Kingdom. Don’t forget to check for deals and discounts on the Disney World website that can help lower the cost of your stay. Or you can ask our friends at Small World Vacations to help you plan!
