All good things must come to an end — Disney fans certainly know that.
But, usually, that means that something new and exciting is well on the way. We hope that’s what will end up happening in this particular scenario, because Disney just announced a popular show will be holding it’s final performance soon — here’s everything we know.
Disneyland has confirmed that “Tale of the Lion King” will end its run at Disneyland’s Fantasyland Theater next year, per Scott Gustin. The final performance will be on January 7th, 2024.

“Tale of the Lion King” is a theater adaptation of The Lion King told by a traveling group known as “The Storytellers of the Pride Lands.” This show premiered in 2019 at the Palisades Stage in Disney California Adventure. Since then, it has been adapted with new scenes and costume designs as well as new music and choreography, all inspired by the cultural roots of the story it is based on.
The current iteration of the show debuted in Disneyland Park at the Fantasyland Theater on May 28th, 2022. If you want to catch this show before it closes in Disneyland, make sure you visit the park on or before January 7th, as that will be the last day for performances.
