At the 2022 D23 expo, we learned that an all-new Percy Jackson series would arrive on Disney+ in 2023, and since then, we’ve been at the edge of our seats waiting for more details. Disney granted us with a single teaser trailer, and since then, we’ve been watching it over and over. This series is something that author Rick Riordan has been working on since 2020, so it’s great to see it finally coming to fruition. Now, Disney has announced even MORE details regarding the upcoming series.
The upcoming series Percy Jackson and the Olympians will air on Disney+ on December 20th, 2023 with the first two episodes. Disney shared that the first season will be based on Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Disney also shared a new trailer, which you can check out below!
The first season will highlight the first adventures of 12-year-old demigod Percy, who is coming to terms with his powers in the modern age. On top of this, the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. Percy and his friends Grover and Annabeth must go on a quest to help Olympus.
