You're Not Gonna Like What We Have To Say About EPCOT's NEW Funnel Cake

Did you know there are some SECRET Food & Wine Festival booths in EPCOT?

Yes, you’ve got the typical booths set up around the park, but some of the permanent snack locations also join in on the festival fun with exclusive, limited-time snacks, and since they’re in EPCOT year-round, you might not know about those special eats! One of those locations is the Funnel Cake Stand in the American Adventure pavilion. Come with us to check out this year’s Food & Wine Festival Funnel Cake flavor.

Eats

We picked up the Candied Bacon Funnel Cake, which is a Funnel Cake topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Candied Bacon, and Maple Syrup Drizzle for $10.50. Sounds AMAZING, right?

Although this particular flavor is new, we saw a pretty similar flavor back in 2021 with the Mini Candied Bacon-S’mores Funnel Cake. The 2021 version also had chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows on it, so how does the simplified 2023 version stack up?

It looks good!

The funnel cake itself was delicious, per usual, but we honestly…didn’t love the bacon. Our reporter is usually a fan of maple bacon combos, but she felt it was a little too rich.

A closer look

The ice cream, maple syrup, and fried dough are all VERY sweet, and instead of balancing it out, the bacon was too bold and almost clashed with the rest of the treat. We love the regular fried dough though, so we say save a bit of money and get a traditional funnel cake here instead.

OVERALL

Overall, we have to say that this booth was unfortunately a bit of a disappointment this year. The funnel cakes themselves are great here, so we definitely say stop by to grab one during your EPCOT trip, but we don’t recommend the festival choice here this year.
