NEWS: The Disney World App Is Having a MAJOR Problem Right Now

Sometimes, our day at Disney World can feel like one wild ride on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. One moment, we’re climbing up the hill on our way to our favorite attraction, the next, the train is flying off the rails, and our plans are totally derailed. You never know what may happen!

Ready for a little storytime? Well, on the opening day of the 2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, we arrived at EPCOT bright and early, ready to take on the day. One of our first stops? The Creations Shop, obviously. Gotta grab that merch before it sells out, right?

Well, immediately, our day was off to an…interesting start. We got a message on the My Disney Experience app that read, “Some of our digital experiences are undergoing maintenance and may currently be unavailable.” Yep. Nothing like a little technical difficulty to start our day!

Well, we soon found out just what was wrong with the app. We were notified, “Discounts are not available for merchandise mobile checkout and mobile order at this time. For assistance, please see a Cast Member at checkout.” If you were hoping to take advantage of a discount and wanted to skip the checkout lines for food and merchandise, you may run into some difficulties.

Luckily, a Cast Member can still manually apply those discounts for us while Disney sorts out the technical issues. We will keep our eyes out for updates, so stay tuned for more information. For now, though, it seems like this issue is impacting all of Disney World, so be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date information.
