A brand NEW Disney Cruise Line ship is in the works and we’ve got an exciting update!
The Disney Treasure Cruise Ship is set for delivery in 2024 and will celebrate Walt’s love of adventure. The design is inspired by a gilded palace, will feature a statue of Aladdin and Jasmine on the Magic Carpet in the grand hall, and will even give guests the chance to see Minnie in a NEW look! But now we’ve got more news about this ship.
Disney has shared some concept art depicting the ship’s stern and the characters that will be featured on it! For 25 years, each ship within the Disney Cruise Line fleet has featured some iconic Disney characters on the stern. For example, on the Disney Wish, you’ll find Rapunzel busy painting on the stern.
So, what character will be featured on the Treasure? Well, Disney has revealed that Peter Pan and Captain Hook will be on the stern! They will “honor the ship’s motif of adventure.”
Peter Pan will float next to the Treasure, while Captain Hook will be leaning out of a porthole with a “vengeful expression on his face.” Disney shares, “Paintbrush and paint bucket in hand, Peter Pan sports a mischievous grin as he glances back at Captain Hook, who is dripping in yellow paint.”
The Disney Treasure is the 2nd of 3 new ships planned through 2025. It will have 1,254 staterooms and will be powered by liquefied natural gas.
Curious to know what’s on the bow of the ship as opposed to the stern? Minnie will be featured on the bow of the Disney Treasure in her new look. Looks like she’s READY for an adventure!
