Okay, so we KNOW that Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is over, but we really didn’t want to say goodbye to some of our favorite snacks from the event.
We DID get a little lucky in that some treats DID stick around, like the Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie in Hollywood Studios. Wendell’s Bear Claw in Magic Kingdom also stuck around — for a while — but then it was gone for what we thought was FOREVER. BUT…that snack showed back up TODAY and now we’re like, “WHAT?“
So Wendell’s Bear Claw is a traditional bear claw pastry dipped in and filled with chocolate and sprinkled with hazelnuts. Yes, it’s a simple treat, but in this case, simple works best — it was DELICIOUS and such a GREAT snack.
It was also a popular treat, so we were pretty surprised when it disappeared from the menu at Westward Ho. Today, when we popped by Westward Ho to check out the menu, we were greeted with the BEST surprise, though: WENDELL’S BEAR CLAW IS BACK!!!
Of course, there’s a big BUT. When we asked a Cast Member about it, we were told this is only temporary because they only have five batches left. So it’s back — but apparently, only for a very limited time.
However, we have questions. First, how did they magically just find more batches of the mix to make more? Also, don’t they have the recipe? WHY CAN’T THEY JUST MAKE MORE BATCHES? Disney, please, we’re begging you! Please make more.
For now, though, if you want to get your hands on what is now an elusive snack, run straight to Magic Kingdom and pick it up while it’s still available. We’ll continue to keep an eye on the snack situation in Disney World, too, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
