Disney’s Animal Kingdom is bringing us all the Hakuna Matata vibes with their latest merch drop!

Animal Kingdom is keeping us on our toes with new merch for the 25th anniversary, an iconic dessert turned coffee drink at Joffrey’s, and even a plump Pumbaa popcorn bucket but this new character will help give us no worries for the rest of our (park) days.

Get ready to hunt down Disney’s latest sipper to hit the park merchandise stands starting May 3rd, 2023. Timon, the wise-cracking meerkat, will be reunited in Animal Kingdom with his good buddy Pumbaa as the latest character in the sipper cups lineup.

Timon is expected to be found at Trek Snacks, Cornivores, The Feeding Ground, and select ice cream carts throughout the park. If you’re looking to be one of the first to pick him up though, our best advice is to get him early in the day! When we attended Animal Kingdom’s 25th anniversary celebration the supply was limited for the Pumbaa popcorn bucket but Disney has since restocked. We know that Disney will sell what they have in supply but if they’re limited that could mean that you walk away that day without one until they’re back in stock.

Timon & Rafiki Flotilla

This isn’t the only place you’ll be able to find Timon though! Animal Kingdom has a few other places you can spot our bug-eating friend. If you’re making time in your plans to see the Festival of the Lion King show in Africa Timon can be found there lending his pipes to familiar Lion King tunes to sing along to, including Hakuna Matata. You might also catch a glimpse of him in between shows floating down the river on a flotilla with Rafiki and you can check the times in the My Disney Experience app for the best chance at catching them throughout the day.
