If you’re hungry, you have been WARNED. Seriously, reading this post while having a rumbly in your tumbly may be dangerous and cause you to book a trip to Disneyland ASAP. Still willing to read on? Okay, then let’s get into the delicious details!
The 2023 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially begun at Disneyland Resort and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 25th, you can devour some tasty eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can eat at the D-Lish booth? Well, we’ve checked it out and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts.
Menu
Over at the D-Lish booth, there are two new items as well as some returning items from last year.
We’re checking out these two new items: the Beef & Barley Poutine and the Apricot Tequila Colada. Let’s see how they compare to past year’s items!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the NEW Beef & Barley Poutine. This dish includes potato bites with braised beef short rib, cheese curds, stout gravy, and lager micro sponge. This item is $9.
Tots are always a festival favorite so we were excited to try out this new take! Unfortunately our tots were a little over fried. They were so crispy they were almost hollow in the middle and kept falling apart! Still, the meat was tender and flavorful which made up for the tots. We thought the cheese could have been a little more melted, but overall we thought all of the flavors worked well together to create a hearty dish.
The other food item available at this booth is the Cubano Slider, available for $8.75. This sandwich is made with slow-roasted, mustard-crested pork and sliced smoked ham with melted Swiss cheese and a pickle slice. It’s served on a Hawaiian roll.
When we tried this dish last year, we thought this snack was really tasty! The pork was nice and tender, but the smoked ham seemed kind of like normal lunch meat that you can get at the grocery store. It’s a great option for kids because of the familiar flavors it offers.
Drinks
For drinks, we tried the NEW Apricot Tequila Cooler. This drink features Reposado Tequila, Aperol, apricot purée, coconut cream and orange & lime juices, garnished with a Lime Wheel. This drink is $15.
WARNING: This drink is strong! They were pretty heavy on the tequila so if you prefer lighter cocktails you’ll probably want to skip this one. It was pretty thick because of the coconut cream and apricot puree, but this drink was very refreshing and we loved how the tropical flavors paired with the tequila. You’re just going to want to sip this one slowly!
The other drink available here is the Sake Melon ’75. If that sounds familiar, it’s because it is! Last year this drink was at the LA Style booth.
This drink is made with sake, ginger liqueur, prosecco, rockmelon syrup, and lemongrass-citron purée for $15. This drink was really refreshing! The ginger wasn’t super powerful, and you could not really taste the prosecco.
OVERALL
Even though we probably didn’t get the best representation of the poutine, we still thought it was a tasty dish! The drink, while strong, is a must-get if you love thicker fruit drinks like mango juice, especially in cocktail form. The fresh fruit taste was also a great compliment to the heavier poutine. This booth kind of has a little something for everyone, so if you’re looking for a stop for your family check out D-Lish!
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
