Have you noticed a bunch of BEES around EPCOT recently? Not real bees (although we’ve definitely seen plenty of those) — we’re talking about Spike the Bee!
The 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival has begun and will last through July 5th. There are lots of food booths to check out, character topiaries to visit, and concerts to attend. But you shouldn’t forget about Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration — the festival scavenger hunt throughout EPOCT that’s all about Spike the Bee. Is this activity worth the cost? Come with us to find out!
Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration scavenger hunt takes place throughout EPCOT and lasts for the duration of this year’s festival. The Disney honeybee character named Spike is pollinating his way through the festival, and guests can follow his trail.
You can buy a map and stickers from World Traveler, Creations, Port of Entry, Disney Traders, and even some of the festival booths! The map costs $9.99, but you can apply Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club discounts! You’ll search for Spike the Bee and place the stickers in the correct spot on the map.
Once your map is complete, you can return it to Creations, World Traveler, Port of Entry, or Disney Traders and collect a prize! Back in 2022, the prize was one of four reusable containers, which each featured different characters and colors. This year, you can choose from an array of cups and plates featuring Orange Bird, Spike the Bee, Figment, or Snow White! You can choose one cup or one plate.
So is this activity worth the cost and your time at the festival?
Whether or not you complete the map, you can redeem it for a prize. This is a great activity to keep little ones busy, or fun if you’re simply wanting to walk around the park and take in all the sights of the Flower and Garden Festival. No matter what, you’re guaranteed to get a prize while supplies last. We think this is definitely worth the time and money spent, because you can take it at your own pace.
