A NEW Hotel Could Be Built Near Disney World

Disney World already has many of its own hotels and tons of hotels nearby, but a NEW option for your future Disney World trips could be on the way.

We’ve already seen some new hotel additions at or near Disney World, including the opening of the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando — Disney Springs Area and the Swan Reserve. And a new section is coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort too. But now we’ve got another hotel-related update!

According to the Orlando Business Journal, a new hotel could be built near Disney World in the future. The new hotel would be built by DGC Development Corp., an Orlando-based company.

It is set to be a 6-story, 68-room, 77,136-square-foot hotel, on Reedy Creek Boulevard (near Reedy Creek Boulevard’s intersection with West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway/U.S. 192). That would place it near Disney’s All-Star Sports and All-Star Movies Resorts.

But things are still very much in development. The plans for the new hotel are set to be reviewed in a pre-application meeting with officials from the county on February 1st.

All in all, the hotel would have 60 suites and 8 master suites. It would be built on a 2.6-acre site. Some of the plans for the hotel that were shared with Osceola County also show that there would be an infinity pool outdoors, a jacuzzi, and a dock/pier structure on a small lake.

A New Hotel Near Disney World Could Be Coming Soon

As you might expect, hotels in the area are seeing fairly strong occupancy rates. In November, hotels showed a 72.6% occupancy rate according to Visit Orlando data. That was up from 63.4% in November of the previous year, but hotels are still trying to get back to the pre-COVID average of 76.5% (November 2019).

Still, travel is increasing, especially when it comes to international travelers. All of that could make for a particularly profitable situation when it comes to new hotels in what some consider to be the theme park capital of the World (Orlando).

Again, plans for this hotel are not yet finalized and they are pending a pre-application meeting/review with the county. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates.
