We’re counting down the days until we can FINALLY ride the TRON Lightcycle / Run coaster in Magic Kingdom!
TRON construction — Early January 2023
The ride is set to open on April 4th, 2023 and we’ve been not-so-patiently waiting and watching it be constructed for the past FIVE years. But now, we’re just a few months away and that means there are some big construction updates happening. Today we spotted something new near the ride!
While TRON Lightcycle / Run is located in Tomorrowland, you can actually get pretty close to the ride over by The Barnstormer in Storybook Circus. This has long been a great vantage point for watching the construction, but when we stopped over there today, a construction wall had been taken down!

The old fence has been replaced with rolling hedges, which is typically a sign that construction will be completed soon. We noticed a similar change over by Tomorrowland Light & Power Company last week, which is where the ride’s main entrance is located.

We’re interested to see what updates come along in the next few weeks. The ride and surrounding area will need to be completed in time for Cast Member, Annual Passholder, and DVC member previews ahead of its opening, so that shouldn’t be too far away.
We’ll be there on the opening date to share all the details of the ride and check out the crowds, so stay tuned to DFB! We can’t wait to check out this ride for ourselves.
