We’re in Magic Kingdom ready to bring you another food review!
We recently tried a chicken sandwich from Cosmic Ray’s that didn’t blow our socks off, but now we’re heading back for another meal! Disney World does have vegan and plant-based options, but sometimes they can be hard to find or not very good. Which is why whenever we find one, we want to tell you about it right away — come with us to try a new plant-based offering at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe!
The Patty Melt is a plant-based burger with vegan cheese and coleslaw on top, sandwiched between two pieces of toasted bread and with fries as a side for $12.79.
Our reporter is a plant-based eater and they really loved this burger! The patty was seasoned very well and tasted like a Jimmy Dean sausage. All the elements of the sandwich work really well together. We loved that there was a butter taste to the bread and that the slaw is dressed with a zesty thousand island dressing that has a little kick. Plus, you get a generous amount of delicious fries!
The only warning we will give is that the cheese, since it’s vegan, isn’t what you would normally expect on a burger. It doesn’t melt too well, and the texture may be off to some, but our reporter didn’t mind.
We honestly think anyone would like this burger, not only those who have vegan or plant-based diets! If you don’t like a lot of seasoning, then the patty and coleslaw may be a little too much for you, but otherwise, we say run to get this right now.
Since the holiday season is upon us, there are lots of holiday snacks to check out while you’re in the parks for the next few weeks. We’ve got reviews on them all too, so you know what’s worth your money! As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney food news.
