Disney World Food Review: Cherry Dole Whip Soft Serve at Backstretch Pool Bar at Saratoga Springs

We hope you’re hungry because it’s time to talk about a major Disney World staple — food!

That’s right, Disney has released a ton of new treats for the fall/Thanksgiving season and we are reviewing a ton of those items for you! We want to make sure you have a good idea on what you should totally try and spend your money on and what you should skip when visiting the parks this holiday season!

We are trying out the NEW Cherry Blossom Swirl from Backstretch Pool Bar at Disney’s Saratoga Springs hotel. This treat should be available from now until November 30, 2022.

New Dole Whip Alert!

This is a new DOLE WHIP creation, so you best believe we were excited to try it out. The Cherry Blossom swirl is Dole Whip cherry swirled with vanilla soft serve. We thought it sounded simply delish. But is it worth a trip to Saratoga Springs?! Let’s find out shall we!

CHERRY!

First off, we need to talk about soft serve ice cream in Florida. It. Melts. And in this treat, the vanilla soft serve melted more quickly than the cherry swirl, leaving one half more “soupy” than the other half.

Trust us: Get the cup.

Our best suggestion for dealing with this is to order the Cherry Blossom Swirl in a cup, rather than on a cone. It’ll be less messy to eat, and you won’t lose any of your treat. The cherry Dole Whip flavor was tart and tangy, and while some cherry flavors can remind us of cough syrup, this one did not. NOTE: This isn’t the first time we’ve seen cherry Dole Whip in the parks.

The vanilla soft serve was — of course — sweet and creamy, and we really enjoyed the combination of the two.

Tart, tangy, sweet, creamy … all in one bite.

This treat is priced at $5.99 — at least according to the sign. We were actually charged $5.29 when we tried it.
