Have you been thinking about planning an international trip? Well, now is the time to do it!
Even though there have been some issues like delayed and canceled flights and staffing shortages, people are traveling more now than they have been in the past couple of years. Trips to Europe, in particular, are pretty popular. And, with those recent price increases at places like Disneyland Resort, it might actually be cheaper to take an international vacation. Luckily, one U.S. airline just released its flight schedule for the summer of 2023!
United Airlines has just revealed its summer travel schedule for 2023, which includes some new flight routes! United will fly to 37 cities in Europe, Africa, India, and the Middle East, according to CNBC. United says this total is more locations than other U.S. airlines combined.
United is also bringing back destinations like nonstop flights from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey to Stockholm, Sweden. The airline hasn’t flown to that city since 2019. Other routes added include Newark to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (which will start on March 25th) and Newark to Málaga, Spain.
“This is a schedule we believe we can operate,” said Patrick Quayle to reporters, according to CNBC. Quayle is United’s senior vice president of global network planning and alliances. He also said United is working closely with airports and other industry members to make sure it isn’t overshooting when it comes to this schedule.
There are also some returning seasonal routes that were added in 2022. Take a look:
United said demand for travel to Europe was up 20% from 2019 to this summer. They also said that they will start flights between San Francisco, California and Rome, Italy on May 25th. This is also when seasonal service will begin to Shannon, Ireland from Chicago O’Hare International Airport, as well as when daily flights to Barcelona, Spain, from Chicago will start.
There will also be flights from Washington Dulles International Airport to Berlin, Germany at that time.
