It’s a holiday weekend and you know what that means — CROWDS in Disney World!
Or at least that’s what we thought. This year seems to be an exception to the rule: even the 4th of July weekend crowds were surprisingly lighter than what we expected. We have seen summer crowds in full force in Disney World, but things have been quiet recently, and, well, things are still pretty slow today. Let’s take a look!
We started our day out in EPCOT — it’s a holiday weekend, and we would expect this area around Germany to be more crowded today.
Even just walking around World Showcase made us wonder where all the people are. This is pretty slow for a Saturday, especially for a Saturday before Labor Day!
When we hopped over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we found the same — there just aren’t as many people in the parks as we expected.
When we walked into Toy Story Land, we were still surprised that it seemed much calmer than normal in the afternoon.
This is the park with notoriously high ride wait times, but those weren’t as bad as we’ve seen in the past. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster had a 45-minute wait posted.
Tower of Terror had a wait time posted of 60 minutes when we walked by.
We even looked at the My Disney Experience app and saw that Rise of the Resistance only had a wait time of 50 minutes!
We’re going to continue to keep an eye on the crowds (or should we say non-crowds?) all weekend to let you know what Labor Day weekend is looking like. So far, though, this seems to be a good time of year to go to Disney World, at least compared to the busy summer season (or that super busy winter season!).
If you do visit Disney World, you’ll still have to decide if you want to skip the standby lines and access the Lightning Lanes for attractions — you can do this by purchasing Disney Genie+ or by paying per ride for those attractions that have the Individual Lightning Lane option.
