It’s no secret that we love Disney desserts.
One especially iconic Disney treat is the Dole Whip and like many Disney fans, we love trying new versions of it! Disney Springs is currently hosting Flavors of Florida, an event where you can eat and drink your way around Disney Springs, trying all sorts of items inspired by Florida! Today, we’re heading there to try not one, not two, but THREE Dole Whips that have been rolled out for the event!
If you’re looking for a Dole Whip in Disney Springs, Swirls on the Water is the place to go. It has your typical Dole Whip options, along with some more unique flavor combinations! For the Flavors of Florida event, it rolled out three Dole Whip treats: the returning Watermelon Taco, an Orange Bird Dole Whip, and a Peach Bellini float, and of course, we had to try all three! Let’s dive into it.
First up is the Watermelon Taco. This is watermelon Dole whip with chocolate chips inside a fresh watermelon shell. We actually tried this last year over at Marketplace Snacks, and thought that the watermelon slice was delicious, but the watermelon Dole whip was only okay, so we were excited to give it another try! It has been gone for some time, so we are happy it’s back!
First thing you need to know about this is that as of writing, it’s not listed on the menu, but you can still ask for it. We thought the Dole whip itself was very refreshing and the watermelon fruit shell was very fresh. We thought the chocolate chips on top added a nice crunch, as well.
As with any ice cream dessert in Florida, this melted fast, and it isn’t very structurally sound, so it falls apart easily. This wouldn’t be a great option if you were looking for a decadent dessert, because it’s on the light side, but if you’re hot in Disney Springs and need a refreshing treat that won’t leave you dragging, this would be a good option. It is $5.99.

We also tried the Orange Bird Dole Whip cone! This is an orange Dole whip in an orange cone with white chocolate disc and sprinkles.
The theme of the new treats seems to be refreshing, because this Dole whip cone was also light and refreshing. The orange flavor is perfect without being overpowering and it’s nice and creamy. For $5.49, we thought it was a decent size for the price. Plus, how adorable is the Orange Bird white chocolate piece?
The one downside to this treat was that the cone got soggy very quick, and didn’t have any flavor of its own, it was just a regular ice cream cone. Since it’s a cone, you might want to consider asking for a bowl, unless you can eat it all before it melts or the cone gets too soggy to hold it up. Again, if you’re looking for a refreshing treat and you’re someone who likes orange, give it a go, but if you’re not an orange fan, we would recommend steering clear of this treat.
And finally, we tried the Peach Bellini, which is a peach bellini with orange Dole whip. We liked this because it was sweet without being overpowering and it’s really delicious if you mix the soft-serve into the drink rather than eating the ice cream and then drinking the bellini.
We thought the portion size was a little small, and the orange slice garnish was a little big and cumbersome (they don’t have the smaller slices yet).
If you’re not into citrusy flavors, we would probably skip this, but we thought it was very refreshing with just the right amount of kick from the bellini. It is $7.99.
Looking for even more Flavors of Florida treats? Check out our thoughts on the Blood Orange Éclair from Amorette’s Patisserie, or this VERY boozy Dole Whip we tried at Wine Bar George.
And don’t forget that from now until August 5th, Annual Passholders can get a free Orange Bird magnet in Disney Springs. As always, make sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney food news.
