REVIEW: We Were Really Rooting For Disney World's Apple Pie Cupcake

If you know us, then you know we’ve been walking around Disney World today trying the newest treats and snacks.

As you may, or may not, know Disney is celebrating big time this 4th of July! They have tons of new merchandise, food, and firework shows to help get you in the spirit of the holiday. Recently, we made sure to get a taste of the action in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

If you’re spending the 4th of July in Disney World but you’re missing home (and grandma’s cooking) this Disney dessert might be for you! This apple pie-inspired cupcake can be found at two places in Hollywood Studios! The Backlot Express and Rosie’s All-American Cafe will both be home to this cupcake from July 1st – July 4th!

Here it is!

This Apple Pie Cupcake is a yellow cupcake filled with apple pie filling! This cupcake is topped off with a salted caramel buttercream icing and cinnamon streusel. To add even more of the festive touch, the cupcake is topped with red, white, and blue sprinkled Mickey ears.

So cute!

While we’ve actually seen a variation of this cupcake before, but it’s been a while. We thought the cupcake itself was very moist, and the frosting was sweet without being overpowering.

Unfortunately, we found that the apple pie filling didn’t have much flavor. You get a hint of apple, but it’s almost as if they’ve been overcooked and lost all their flavor. However, we thought this was a cool spin on a classic Disney treat!

We think anyone who likes cupcakes would enjoy this treat, but if you’re not a fan of apples or fruit filling in sweet treats, then steer clear!
