When you think of Salt & Straw, what comes to mind?

Cinnamon and Honey Fried Chicken Ice Cream and Deviled Egg with Smoked Black Tea ice cream
Probably their unique takes on Ice Cream, right? With flavors inspired by Deviled Eggs, Fried Chicken, and Flower Petals, they’re constantly coming up with something new. And now they’ve created something truly unique. You remember that cheese nail polish we were talking about not too long ago? This takes things to a whole other level. 😮
Salt & Straw has announced that they collaborated with Portland perfumery, Imaginary Authors, to create edible perfumes!
The companies have collaborated previously on their non-edible perfume scented after Waffle Cones.

You might be thinking “Okay, ice cream perfume for myself! Sounds reasonable.” And yes, this perfume CAN be sprayed on your body. BUT here’s where things get really interesting. These perfumes can also be sprayed on…your ice cream?! 🍨
That’s right folks, forget topping your ice cream with sprinkles — it’s all about spraying your ice cream with perfume! According to Salt & Straw, ice cream technically has no scent. The ingredients within the ice cream may have a smell, but at the low temperatures, the smells are essentially “frozen in ice.” So Salt & Straw and Imaginary Authors partnered to create an ice cream topping to really give you that “all-sensory” ice cream experience.
The edible perfumes are launching July 17th, which is only fitting, as it’s National Ice Cream Day! Three separate scents will be available, including “A Cloud of Cocoa” (notes of Ecuadorian chocolate, malted milkshake, and Japanese whisky), “A Plume of Blumes” (notes of honeysuckle and jasmine), and “A Swoon of Citrus” (notes of key lime pie, lychee, and an Italian lemon grove). Each 65ml perfume is $65, but you can choose to buy the complete flight (10ml bottles) for $48.
