The COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect Disney Parks around the world.
We’ve seen Disneyland Paris close and later reopen, and Hong Kong Disneyland went through a similar closing and reopening process. Back in March, Shanghai Disney Resort closed due to COVID-19, and now we have an update.
Shanghai Disney Resort announced today that more of the resort will be reopening very soon. The Wishing Star Park, the World of Disney Store, Blue Sky Boulevard, Lakeshore Boat Rental, and the Disney Car and Coach Park reopened on June 10th. Disneytown, Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, and Disneytown Parking Lot will all reopen on June 16th. Shanghai Disneyland and Toy Story Hotel, however, will stay closed until further notice.
Each reopened location will have limited hours and capacity, with the Wishing Star Park open from 9AM to 5PM, the World of Disney Store open from 9AM to 7PM, whereas Disneytown as a whole will be 10AM to 7PM, and the Disneytown Parking Lot from 9AM to 8PM. Blue Sky Boulevard will be open from 8AM to 7PM, and the Disney Car and Coach Park will be open from 8AM to 8PM. The Disney Car and Coach Park will feature discounted rates prior to the official reopening of the full resort.
Many of the shopping, dining, and recreational experiences in Disneytown will be available to guests, operating with reduced hours of operation. Some restaurants will offer adjusted menus featuring “grab-and-go” items. Guests can also make reservations for Shanghai Disneyland Hotel starting today and can expect all the dining experiences and room types at the hotel to be available, but select amenities such as the King Triton Pool and the onsite fitness center will be unavailable until further notice.
From June 14th to July 12th, Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders can enjoy a discounted rate on Deluxe Garden View hotel rooms from June 16th to July 13th. For Shanghai Disneyland Annual Pass holders whose birthday falls in March to June, the validity period of their birthday benefits this year, including those that can be enjoyed at the resort hotel, will be extended to September 30th.
Health and safety measures will be in place for all visiting guests and everyone will be required to provide their green Shanghai Health QR Code and a negative Nucleic Acid Test taken within a 72-hour window prior to entering Shanghai Disney. Guests are also required to present a green code and Travel Itinerary Card, and complete the Health Declaration Form, before entering the park. Temperature screening is required upon entry and all guests must wear masks both indoors and outside unless eating. Social distancing will also be required.
In the U.S., Disney World and Disneyland Resorts are open and nearly back to pre-pandemic status, with a few remaining restaurants, locations, and entertainment still set to reopen. Keep reading DFB for more Disney Parks news!
