Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land is smokin’ — literally! In May of 2022, a ride vehicle on Radiator Spring Racers started releasing smoke shortly after it crossed the finish line. (Talk about burning rubber!)

“Welcome to Cars Land”

The attraction was temporarily closed for a little bit and has since reopened. But soon another ride in Cars Land will be CLOSED, this time for some scheduled refurbishment!

Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree is a ride within Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park that attracts many guests with its exciting sharp turns, fun music, and Mater…of course!

But guests looking forward to taking a spin with Mater may not get the chance to if they’re visiting this month. On the Disneyland website, the ride does not show any hours from June 13th through June 16th.

On June 17th, however, the ride does list operating hours, so we expect it could reopen on that date.

It is also listed on the Disneyland refurbishment calendar from June 13th-16th, but comes off the calendar on the 17th.

Keep in mind that some refurbishments end up being faster (or slower) than expected, so be sure to use the Disneyland App to see if it will be open while you’re in the park.
