REVIEW: Pair Your Fish & Chips In EPCOT With a Treat Fit For a QUEEN!

Can’t get enough of Prince William and Kate Middleton? Following all the latest on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? Well, now you don’t have to tune into the news to get your British royalty fix — you can head to Disney World! Wait…what?

Right now, Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee — this means that she’s been on the throne for 70 years (!!), making her only the second queen to EVER be on the throne this long. A pretty big deal, right? Well, you can mark the occasion in EPCOT’s U.K. Pavilion for only TWO days (June 4th and 5th) with a new treat and, of course, we had to stop by to give it a try!

EPCOT’s U.K. Pavilion is where you’ll find the Yorkshire County Fish Shop, which is where you can find the new Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Trifle treat for $4.59! The treat is a lemon curd swiss roll in orange jelly with custard and mandarins topped with almond biscotti.

We gave this dessert a try, and if you’re in the mood for a light and bright dessert, this treat is a MUST! It’s got a very light, subtle lemon taste, with a bright, fresh flavor from the mandarins. The lemon curd was also smooth, with a nice, crunchy texture from the almond biscotti.

We will note that the lemon curd left a bit of a film in our mouth after a few bites. And, the almond biscotti was a very fine crumble, so the crunch wasn’t as big as we had hoped.

All in all, we thought this was a fun (and tasty) way to celebrate the Queen from across the pond! If you want a light, citrus dessert, you’ll definitely want to give this treat a try. But, if mandarin and lemon-flavored eats are usually a pass for you, then you might want to opt for something else in EPCOT like the Pride Cake at the Kringla Bekeri og Kafe! It’s an almond frangipane cake layered with chocolate ganache, and will be around through June 30th!
