Graduation season is about to begin, and Disney has so many ways to celebrate!
To celebrate in the parks, Disneyland guests can attend a Grad Nite event, and Disney World guests can grab a special pair of graduation Mickey ears. But if you’re looking for a way to bring Disney magic to your own graduation ceremony, you’ll want to check out Disney’s newest arts and crafts project!
Disney’s graduation cap project is perfect for any graduation — preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and college! They provided two ideas for graduates, and both will bring a pop of Disney to any ceremony!
Lilo and Stitch-Themed Cap
Succeeding in school takes a lot of support, so if you want to thank the folks who have been there for you, Disney’s Lilo and Stitch-themed Graduation Cap is a great way to do it.

To Thank Your Ohana! ©Disney
Supplies
- Light blue graduation cap (or whatever color the school requires/provides)
- Painter’s tape
- Scissors
- Various tropical flowers (like hibiscus)
- Various paintbrushes
- Light aqua all-purpose craft paint
- Hot glue
- Craft glue
- Fine point craft blade
- Cardstock

The Steps | ©Disney
Directions
- Prevent the paint from bleeding by lining the back of the cap with painter’s tape. Then, paint 2-3 coats of light aqua blue to prime. Let the paint dry.
- Paint a gradient across the bottom corner of the cap to make Stitch pop! Add white to the tip of the cap, mix both aqua and white above that, and then only the aqua above that. Then, while the paint is still wet, blend the overlapping areas with horizontal brush strokes until the effect is created.
- Print out these templates onto cardstock to get the images and letters you need, and then cut them out. Use a fine point craft blade to get the best results.
- To get a floral crown look (if you want this included), hot glue your flowers. Make sure you leave room on the bottom corner for Stitch! Once the flowers are glued, place the “Thank you to my ohana” around the button of the cap, and place Stitch to the bottom corner. Add the tassel, and the cap is complete!
Aladdin-Themed Graduation Cap
Your graduation is a big deal. And with the help of the Genie, you can make sure you get the celebration you deserve as you walk across the stage!

Supplies
- Navy graduation cap (or whatever color the school requires/provides)
- Painter’s tape
- Scissors
- Blue LED fairy lights
- Paintbrushes
- Navy blue all-purpose craft paint
- Thick blue glitter paint
- Hot glue
- Craft glue
- Navy felt
- White pencil
- Cardstock

The Steps | ©Disney
Directions
- Prevent the paint from bleeding by lining the back of the cap with painter’s tape.
- Prime the cap by painting 2-3 coats of navy paint. Then, coat the cap with a generous amount of glitter paint. Let the paint and glitter dry.
- While waiting for the cap to dry, print these templates of the Genie and “Applause” onto cardstock. Then, cut out the images.
- Use hot glue to secure the LED light pack onto the back of the cap, or glue the battery pack to the base of the cap. When the paint is done drying, trace the inside of the templates with a white pencil, so you know where they go on the cap. Then, line the LED lights up with the outline you made with the pencil, and attach the lights with hot glue.
- Place the Genie and “Applause” on top of the lights, place your tassel, and pull it through the genie before securing the templates with hot glue and craft glue.
