There are some flavor combinations that seem to be VERY controversial. Are you team pineapple on pizza? Do you mind a little chocolate-covered bacon? What about mint chocolate chip ice cream? No matter where you stand on those great food debates, it’s always fun to see what kind of new treats Disney thinks up! We’ve tasted some WEIRD flavors in our time, but it’s always an adventure!

Caribbean Beach Resort
Over at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, we found a minty new treat that sounds VERY familiar to another dessert we JUST tried in Disney World! Is it worth a visit to the Caribbean Beach? Let’s find out!
Recently, we tried Disney’s new Mint-Chocolate Chip Cheesecake at ABC Commissary in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This treat was MADE for all those minty chocolate lovers, and we enjoyed this (randomly decorated) little treat!

Mint Chocolate Cheese at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Now, over at the Centertown Market in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, you can try a slight variation of the Hollywood Studios dessert. The Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake served here is available from March 13th to 19th and costs $5.49 (yes, it goes by the same name but IS different).

There’s a NEW specialty dessert!
This more festive version of the Mint Chocolate Cheesecake is made with a mint chocolate brownie topped with vanilla cheesecake and a whipped mint chocolate chip ganache, with a house-made shamrock chocolate decoration. So, does this treat leave us dreaming of mint chocolate chip ice cream?

She’s festive!
One of the first things we need to talk about is that super BRIGHT cheesecake on top. It’s no doubt that Disney is using a whole lot of green food coloring this holiday season and this treat proves it. Aside from the color though, this comes pretty close to tasting just like a classic cheesecake — it’s thick, it’s creamy, and there’s just a little bit of “fluff” to it. This is where all the minty flavor is packed and we were happy to find that the taste was much more subtle and grew on us as we kept eating rather than punching us in the face.
And, the mint flavor is made “mint-chocolate” thanks to the brownie on the bottom and ganache on top. We thought that both were rich and tasty, though the chocolate brownie appeared to need just a little more time in the oven as the bottom half was just barely cooked more than the top half.

The perfect balance of chocolate to mint!
All in all, we liked the Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake though we aren’t necessarily going to go out of our way to get more. But, if you’re staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, this could be a great specialty treat to grab in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Just be warned — it is pretty sweet, so you might want to bring a few more hungry bellies with you if you don’t have much of a sweet tooth. And, if you’re craving something with more of a minty taste, then we’d probably recommend heading over to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for the Luck of the Green Cupcake instead.
Note that this dessert is NOT available to purchase through Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app so you’re going to have to buy it in person — just find it in the refrigerated section of the market! And, of course, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney treats, so make sure to stay tuned for more!
