Is it just us or is a big bowl of chili the PERFECT comfort food?

Let’s just say we were very excited when Disney World announced Walt’s Chili as one of its 50th Anniversary Celebration dishes. However, Walt’s Chili didn’t wow us, and we were left wondering if good chili COULD be found at a Disney Park. Well, we just found some GREAT chili, not at Disney World, but Disneyland, proving once again that the West Coast just sometimes does things better (like churros).

Like Walt’s Chili at Disney World, the Hearty Chili in a Sourdough Bread Bowl for $11.49 from Disney California Adventure is served in a bread bowl. But that’s where the comparison ends. Although we found Walt’s Chili to be mild, this chili was spicier than we expected and had just the right amount of kick. 

HEARTY

The chili is a rich blend of Beef, Beans, and Tomatoes simmered with Spices, and lives up to its hearty name. The Sourdough Bread Bowl was also delicious — fresh and perfect for soaking up all that chili.

We also tried the Lemon Blueberry Bread Pudding, which is a warm Lemon-Blueberry Bread Pudding filled with Lemon Cream Cheese, topped with Whipped Cream, Lemon Sauce and Blueberries. The last time we had this treat was in 2019 and we loved it then. So how about now?

We’re happy to report that the bread pudding is still delicious — the pudding itself is dense, but also moist when you bite into it, with plenty of blueberries throughout. Our only complaint is that we wanted the layer of lemon curd on the top to be bigger.
