We’ve been making our way through the 2022 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival! And we’re about to visit one of the booths we’re MOST excited about.
If you know us here at DFB, you know we take cheese very seriously. We’ve been enjoying all kinds of cheesy delights at this festival, including some amazing bacon mac ‘n’ cheese and the cheesiest hot dog available. But now we’re taking things to a new level by heading to the Nuts About Cheese booth! We’re pretty sure Disneyland created this booth just for us.
Menu
This year’s menu includes three new snacks and a fun new cocktail!
We’re definitely intrigued by that Peanut Butter and Jelly Mac. 👀
We loved this booth at past festivals, so we can’t wait to dig in this time.
Food
First up for new food items at this booth is the Peanut Butter & Jelly Mac with brown sugar streusel and strawberry crackle! Yep, you read that correctly. PB&J MAC! And for $8.25, who wouldn’t want to try PB&J Pasta?!
We think everyone needs to try this snack at least once in their life. It probably wasn’t the most delicious thing we’ve had at this year’s festival, but it’s up there for the most unique. The sauce on the pasta reminded us of pad Thai peanut sauce, and the flavors worked together better than we thought they would. It was more savory than we expected it to be since the focus is on the peanut flavor rather than jelly. The strawberry-flavored pop rocks were a little bit excessive, but they definitely make it more exciting!
Also available (and new!) at the cheesy booth this year is the Next Level Crackers & Cheese for $8. This is house-made herb crackers with white cheddar-infused fromage blanc, spicy prosciutto spread, and cherry jam.
We LOVED this snack. The flavors were all really interesting, although nothing was too unfamiliar. That creamy white cheddar cheese was fantastic. The sweet cherry jam went well with the cheese and prosciutto, and the crackers were crisp and fresh.
For all the dessert lovers out there, you can try the SNICKERS Caramel-Peanut Milk Chocolate Mickey Macaron.
This is a chocolate Mickey macaron filled with caramel ganache and SNICKERS pieces, available for $6.50.
This dessert is delicious! It tastes just like a great macaron filled with Snickers flavors. There’s a good balance of caramel, peanuts, and chocolate, and the filling textures were perfectly smooth and creamy with a delightful crunch from the peanuts.
Drink
There’s only one drink available at this booth, but they made it a fun one! The Spicy Honey-Apricot Cocktail is made with Rye Whiskey, apricot, orange, lemon juice, spicy honey syrup, and bitters. You can get this drink for $14.
We thought the spicy cocktail was really interesting! It definitely had a kick (you can really taste the cayenne pepper), and the honey came through nicely as well. Overall, we really enjoyed this drink!
Overall
This booth definitely has some of the most interesting food at this year’s festival, and that’s not a bad thing! We enjoyed everything we ate, although the macaron and crackers & cheese dish were our favorite items here. Kids will probably love the idea of PB&J mac and cheese, and the flavors in that snack were not as strange as we thought they’d be! In general, we were absolutely right to be excited about this booth.
If any of these menu items sound great to you, head on over to the festival before it ends on April 26th, 2022! Make sure you check back here for more festival updates.
