If you’ve ever had the pleasure of strolling down a boardwalk, you know that pizza is kind of a boardwalk staple. It’s one of those classic combinations that just makes sense, like Dole Whip in Adventureland or popcorn at the movies! Over at Disney California Adventure, we recently celebrated the reopening of Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta (FINALLY!), but after all that time away, how does the pizza taste at this newly reopened quick service location?

Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta reopened!
While we wait for the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival to begin, we figured we’d try some pizza to hold us over! Will this restaurant give us the happy feelings of being on the boardwalk on a sunny summer evening, or will it be a total flop? Let’s find out!
Over in the Paradise Gardens Park area, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta serves (drumroll, please) a selection of pizzas, pasta, and salads (DUH!). This location has been closed for a while, but we’re happy to see it finally serving up slices again!

We could go for a slice of pizza!
The pizza here is kind of expensive — it’s $41.99 for a whole Pepperoni Pizza. Instead, we ordered a single slice of Pepperoni Pizza for $8.49. No surprises here; it’s pretty much just a regular pepperoni pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and slices of pepperoni. It tastes pretty much the same as the pepperoni pizza served at Alien Pizza Planet.

Pepperoni, obviously
We had to try another slice, for science, of course, so we ordered the specialty pizza! When we visited, it was Shrimp Scampi pizza, and one slice was $8.99. This was a cheese pizza topped with shrimp and all the goodies you typically find in shrimp scampi. We enjoyed this pizza; interestingly, the combination of shrimp and pizza worked.

Shrimp Scampi pizza
We found the shrimp a little hard to bite, so we can’t necessarily vouch for restaurant-quality shrimp here. That said, if you like seafood, you’ll probably enjoy a slice of this pizza. A whole Shrimp Scampi pizza is $43.99 (which probably isn’t worth it in our opinion).

This was pretty good!
For dessert, we ordered the Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake for $5.99. As you can probably infer from the name, this was a cheesecake topped with cream cheese and cinnamon. The bottom is a thin layer of cake — it reminded us of coffee cake.

Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake
This cheesecake lived up to (and maybe even PASSED) our expectations! The sweet flavor was heavenly, and the slight hint of cinnamon added a little extra something to the classic dessert. If you have a sweet tooth, you will probably enjoy this treat — we loved it!

YUM!
It’s always exciting to see a restaurant reopen, so we were so happy to see this little spot back up and running! Be sure to stay tuned for more food reviews and Disney news!
