We are LIVE from the 2022 EPCOT Festival of the Arts! Woohoo! And we’re always so excited about new festivals because it means we get to try a LOT of new food (and revisit some old favorites).
And that’s what we’re doing today — we’re making our way around EPCOT trying everything (yes, we mean EVERYTHING) at the food studios at this year’s festival. We’ve finally made our way around to the Germany Pavilion to check out the food studio there.
The Pastoral Palate is the new name for what was called Cuisine Classique at last year’s festival.
You’ll find it in the Germany pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.
Menu
The name might have changed, but the menu is almost the same. This is the place to be if you’re looking for hearty and rustic Bavarian comfort food (which is perfect for this chilly Orlando day).
And we’re here to dive right into some of that yumminess, so let’s get to it.
Food
First up, there’s a brand new dish here, and it’s something a little WILD. It’s a Wild Boar Cassoulet with duck confit, ham hock, and wild boar sausage. Okay, we’re intrigued, so what did we think about it?

We liked the wild boar sausage a lot. It had a ton of flavor, and it was also super filling. The ham hock was pretty good as well, but we weren’t big fans of the beans. They were just kind of bland for what we were expecting! We’re used to big flavors at this booth, so we were a little disappointed.
The breadcrumbs on top added a great crunch, and we loved the fun texture. There was still good flavor from this dish, but we were hoping for a little bit more. Although it wasn’t a huge portion, the heavy food was very filling, so if you’re looking for a good-sized snack and want to try an adventurous dish, this might be great for you! This new dish is available for $9.
Next up is the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib with parsnip purée, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and aged balsamic. We’ve been a big fan of this dish since 2017 because the beef here is always so tender and the flavors are just PERFECT. You can grab it for $8.25.
But you can’t have all that hearty food without a little something sweet, so the Opera Cake is back this year. It’s made with Almond joconde, coffee buttercream, and chocolate ganache. We loved this cake last year — the flavors melded so well together. And we loved the texture of the chocolate on the bottom. You can get it for $4.75.
Now let’s find something to wash that meal down with!
Beverages
You can get a variety of Rosé drinks here, including the new Old Vine Rosé for $5
The returning drinks here are the Rosé Hard Cider and the Rosé Blonde Ale, which are both $5 for 6oz and $9 for 12oz. The Frozen Rosé is $6.50, or you can get a mix with the Play on Rosé Flight for $10.50.
Spoiler alert: We’re big fans of that flight.
Overall
For fans of Bavarian food and/or Rosé, this booth is a dream come true. We’re not exactly passionate about those things (although we’re not mad about them either!), but we though the food and drinks at this spot were all super tasty. If you’re looking for a hearty snack, we think either of the savory things on the menu would be very filling options. And the Opera Cake is a great choice for chocolate-lovers!
We’re eating and drinking our way around ALL the food studios at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, so stay tuned for more reviews!
