EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts is back, and we’re thrilled to be here, checking out all of the offerings!
As usual, there’s some spectacular entertainment, some amazing artwork, and lots of fun merchandise to shop. However, considering we’re a Disney FOOD blog, we’re extra excited to try all the artistic eats! On our trip around the World Showcase, we stopped to dine in the Germany Pavilion, and we’re giving you our honest review!
You’ll find Cuisine Classique in the Germany Pavilion of the World Showcase, serving up some unique options.
We’re ready to try the eats on this delicious-sounding menu, so let’s dive right in!
Menu
This booth is returning to the festival, but its seen some menu changes this year. New to the list are the Coq au Vin and the Opera Cake.
The Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib and the Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie are both returning, but we’re still excited to try them out.
Food
First up on the list at Cuisine Classique is the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib! The short rib comes with parsnip purée, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and aged balsamic, all for $8. This dish debuted with the festival way back in 2017 and it’s been a favorite ever since! That beef is SO tender.
If you’re in the mood for poultry instead, check out the Coq au Vin. This item is new at Cuisine Classique this year, and it’s chicken roulade with violet mustard, candied carrots, pancetta crisp, marble potatoes, and Beurre rouge sauce. A little cheaper than the short rib, this one is priced at $6.75.
Honestly, the star of the dish was the pancetta. We are OBSESSED. Like this might as well be a dish focused on that with the chicken on the side! Still, the rest of the dish is good too. The chicken was herby and delicious, even in a smaller portion, the sweet and tangy sauce was awesome, and the veggies were tasty too.
As far as desserts go, your first choice is the Opera Cake. Checking out the ingredients, we got pretty excited because it’s made with almond Joconde, coffee buttercream, and chocolate ganache. It’s $4.50, making it the least expensive item at this food studio.
The flavors in this cake mesh together to make a pretty perfect combination. The big win here is the coffee layer making this the perfect coffee-lovers dessert. We loved how the hard chocolate bottom gave the texture some variety!
The last item in the food category is the Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate-Chip Cookie, and if you’re looking for a way to play with your food and not get in trouble, then this may be the choice for you. The giant chocolate chip cookie comes with “paint” for you to create your own edible masterpiece, and we have to admit that it’s pretty fun. You can pick one of these up for $5.50, and it’s big enough to share!
Beverages
To help quench your thirst, you’ll find several drink options at Cusine Classique. Two of them are new this year — the 3 Daughters Brewing Rosé Hard Cider and the 81Bay Brewing Rosé Blonde Ale. Both of these beverages hail from Florida and cost $4.50 for a 6 oz and $8.50 for a 12 oz. Besides these new choices, you can find the returning Frozen Rosé for $6.50. All three of these options are available in the $10.50 A Play on Rosé Flight.
We really liked the flight! Even our reporter who isn’t into rosé enjoyed it. The beer still tastes like a beer (but with that rosé flavor) and the cider still tastes like cider (but with rosé flavor). Yum!
Wine drinkers can also opt for the Campo Viejo Rioja Reserva Art Series for $6, and the Domaine Savary Chablis for $8.
Well, that wraps up this year’s review of Cuisine Classique! We’re glad to be back at the Festival of the Arts, so make sure to follow along and see what other delicious (or not so delicious) eats that we try!
