There are some great things to do while staying at a Disney World resort hotel including craft activities, movies under the stars, and more.
One Disney World hotel amenity that many guests take advantage of no matter what hotel they’re staying at is…the POOL! We’ve seen a number of pools close for some refurbishment in Disney World over the past few months, and more refurbishments have been announced for the future. Now, some more Disney World hotel pools have been added to the refurbishment list. If you are planning on staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort in early 2022 and hoping to use some of its pools, here’s what you need to know.
Earlier today, we saw that the Art of Animation website, specifically under its page for its pools, has been updated to note some upcoming refurbishments.
According to the update, the Flippin’ Fins Pool (which is the one themed to The Little Mermaid) “will be closed for refurbishment from early January 2022 through late February 2022.” While the Flippin’ Fins Pool is undergoing this refurbishment, guests will still get to enjoy other pool offerings. Specifically, The Big Blue Pool (the one themed to Finding Nemo) and the Cozy Cone Pool (the one themed to Cars) will remain open.
Disney has shared that once the Flippin’ Fins Pool reopens in late February 2022, the “Cozy Cone Pool will close for refurbishment through mid-April 2022.” During the time that the Cozy Cone Pool is unavailable, The Big Blue Pool and Flippin’ Fins Pool will be open.
Keep in mind that select pools at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will also undergo refurbishment in early 2022. There will also be some work being done on the Disney Skyliner in early 2022 which will also impact some of its operations.
As always, refurbishment calendars and details are subject to change. Be sure to check with Disney for the latest updates as your trip gets closer. And stay tuned for more Disney news from us here at DFB!
