DATES ANNOUNCED for the Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure Park

There are a number of festivals you can enjoy at Disney parks around the world.

At Disney California Adventure Park in Disneyland Resort, we’ve recently celebrated the Festival of Holidays. But more festivals are on the way! Today, we got some BIG news about the 2022 Lunar New Year festival at Disney California Adventure Park!

In 2020 and in years past, we’ve celebrated the Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park, but sadly the festival was not available for 2021. But, in 2022, the Lunar New Year celebration is coming BACK!

The Lunar New Year festival will take place in California Adventure from January 21st through February 13th, 2022.

Lunar New Year 2020

If you’re not familiar with it, the Lunar New Year celebration at California Adventure honors the traditions of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures. During the festival, guests can enjoy special performances, activities, snacks (of course), decorations, merchandise, and more!

In 2022, the Lunar New Year festival will celebrate the Year of the Tiger! As you might expect, a very special Disney character will be joining in on the fun…TIGGER! Tigger will join Mulan, Mushu, Mickey, Minnie, the Three Little Pigs, and more in celebrating the festival with some themed costumes.

Guests will also get the chance to see Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon for the first time at Disneyland Resort during the Lunar New Year festival. According to Disney, you’ll find Raya in a “setting inspired by her native Kumandra, recreated in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.”

Guests will also get to enjoy Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession when that returns in 2022. The procession is hosted by Mulan and Mushu. It will feature dozens of performers as they “honor family, friendship, and the potential for a fortune-filled new year.”

There will also be live musical performances available at the Paradise Garden Bandstand.

If you’re all about the food, there will be special treats to enjoy during the festival too. Disney has shared that the Sip and Savor Pass will be back and there will be four Lunar New Year marketplaces. Guests will also find some Lunar New Year-inspired food and drink options available at select restaurants throughout the park.

There will also be activities and other things for fans to enjoy including the Lucky Wishing Wall and crafts.
