We’re at Destination D23 in Disney World!

One of Disney’s largest fan events has brought us a LOT of exciting news this morning including some about Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, Disney World’s Star Wars hotel that opens in March. We got a peek at the lightsaber experience and more, AND we know a little bit more about one of the hotel’s characters!

Galactic Starcruiser is set to be a new type of hotel experience. Instead of a traditional stay, you’ll “embark” on a cruise ship-style vacation where you become immersed in a personalized Star Wars story of your own. To help tell the story, you’ll run into a whole cast of Star Wars characters!

Disney has teased for a while that one of the characters will be a galactic superstar who will perform during your dinner in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. Now, we’ve got a first look and a NAME of this captivating character!

Meet Gaia, the diva and galactic superstar who will cruise along with you on the Halcyon. Her sneak peek was revealed by Imagineer Scott Trowbridge during a Destination D23 presentation this morning.

Trowbridge noted that she is quite the performer and that there might be more to her story than meets the eye. Why is a galactically-renown superstar cruising on the regular ol’ Halcyon? Guests on Galactic Starcruiser will have the chance to find out!
