Disney Cruise Line has shared some exciting news lately regarding their NEW ship, the Disney Wish.
We’ve also gotten some updates about bookings opening up for early 2023 cruises, the return of cruises from New Orleans in 2022, and more. Now we’ve got some important updates for those planning cruises in the near future when it comes to final payment and cancellation policies.
Recently, Disney Cruise Line extended their Final Payment policy for those with cruises booked through May 31st, 2022 for select guests. Specifically, all guests booked in unrestricted stateroom categories with cruises scheduled through May 31st, 2022, will not be required to make their final payment until 60 days prior to sailing.
So, if you haven’t already reached your final payment due date yet and you fall into that category, you could have a bit more time to make that final payment.
Reservations for inside, outside, or verandah category rooms with restrictions are nonrefundable.
In addition to extending the final payment schedule, Disney has also extended the relaxed cancellation fee schedule. According to the Disney Cruise Line website, for sailings through May 31st, 2022, the cancellation fee schedule “has been temporarily relaxed from beginning as early as 119 days prior to sailing to beginning 59 days prior to sailing for guests in non-suite and non-concierge categories.”
Disney shared the chart below with travel agents, displaying the updated policy.
The Disney website also shares a look at the cruise date flexibility policy, for those seeking to change their sail date…
…and the current flexible refund policy with regards to guests to experience COVID-19 related symptoms within a certain period of time before sailing.
These policies are all subject to change. But, if you have an upcoming cruise planned, knowing about these updated payment and cancellation policies can help you determine when your final payment is due and what might happen should you need to move or cancel your sailing.
We’ll keep an eye out for more updates and we’ll let you know what we find!
