Disney’s PhotoPass is a great way to get awesome pictures of your vacation.

There are PhotoPass photographers all around the parks, and you’ll find photo ops (and maybe even some extra magical photo spots) during special occasions. Since today is the first day of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, it definitely qualifies as a special occasion. But Disney is going even further than some fun backdrops today!

It’s free to have PhotoPass photographers take your picture, and you can use your MagicBand or smartphone to link them to your My Disney Experience app. But you usually have to pay to download any of the pictures from the app.

NOT TODAY. As a special 50th Anniversary gift, Disney World is giving all the guests free PhotoPass downloads of all their pictures throughout the day! We got this notification on the Disney app while we were in the parks.

That’s not all, though. There’s a new 50th Anniversary-themed wallpaper that’s also free to download! It should load automatically to your PhotoPass gallery on the My Disney Experience app if you’re in the parks today.

Isn’t that beautiful?? The wallpaper has all the park icons lit up as Beacons of Magic. So if you’re in Disney World today, make sure to grab some great 50th photos, because you can download them all for free. Thanks, Disney!

But you’ll want to get in line to get your PhotoPass picture taken soon because we’ve seen some LONG lines in Disney World today — especially in the Magic Kingdom!
