Welcome to Princess Week from Disney World, friends! And, as part of Disney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration, it’s ALL about celebrating our favorite heroines!
Of course, that means we’re taking you with us to take a look at the new things in the park like EPCOT’s Tiana playground and princess merchandise fit for royalty. But, most importantly, we’re eating LOTS of princess snacks all around the parks!
And, we’re heading to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to try our next treat! Meet the Moana Cupcake, which is made with a Vanilla Cupcake, Toasted Coconut Mousse, Pineapple Filling, and Vanilla Buttercream with a White Chocolate Moana Accent Piece! This is the Moana cupcake that’s been at the Poly for a while. But this time we noticed an addition of pineapple filling.
Since the cupcake is themed after Moana, the flavors are tropical with a focus on vanilla and fruit! The coconut topping and pineapple filling on the inside complement one another with their sweet and citrusy notes.
But, honestly, we were thrilled that we found even MORE pieces of pineapple in the cream cheese on top of the cupcake. Plus, the extra bits of coconut on top added a different texture compared to the icing, along with looking like “sand” that Moana is standing on.
Pineapple. coconut, and cheesecake lovers are going to want to book it over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to try the Moana Cupcake this week! The focus on the fruit flavors was a great break from some of the more rich or chocolatey treats around the parks. If you’re not a fan of fruit-based desserts, though, there are still PLENTY of Disney Princess treats to enjoy in Disney World right now.
We will be back to get the NEW Moana Cupcake today. You should to snag both Moana Cupcakes from Capt. Cook’s and Kona Island for $5.99 through August 29th. And, you can stay tuned with DFB for more dining and Disney news coming soon!
