We’re sharing all the important details with you about the historic reopening of Disneyland Resort.
Prior to its reopening, a list of all the rides that would be available to guests was revealed. Now, with social distancing guidelines in place, we’re giving you a look at how ride queues are operating in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure right now.
Previously, Disneyland had specifically shared details about how the virtual queue would work for Rise of the Resistance. But what about the other rides?! Well, here’s what we’re seeing.
As per California’s theme park reopening guidelines, all queues for attractions and rides must be outdoors. Social distancing is to be enforced, and it was recommended that plexiglass should be installed to ensure that guests are properly spaced. Additionally, the guidelines noted that guests are prohibited from eating and drinking while waiting in a ride queue, as we’ve previously seen in Disney World.
While waiting in line for Pirates of the Caribbean, we noticed a handful of safety guidelines. We were spaced six feet apart from other guests, as expected. There were markings on the ground indicating where each party should stand.

Once seated at the attraction, we noticed that larger parties were given their own boats and smaller parties were spaced several rows apart.

On attractions with smaller ride vehicles like Splash Mountain, parties were seated in their own vehicles. You can see how guests were spaced on the Main Street Trolley too — a row in between parties.

As a note, these socially distanced queues do stretch into unusual areas and MUCH farther than they normally would – especially since all lines have to be outdoors. Here you can see that the Indiana Jones Adventure line stretches all the way to 21 Royal.
