There are some SERIOUSLY exciting attractions coming to EPCOT.

We can’t wait for when Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opens on October 1st in EPCOT’s France Pavilion expansion, but we’re ALSO pretty excited for the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind omnicoaster that’s currently under construction. Now, it seems a MAJOR outdoor theming element might appear in EPCOT soon!
This morning, Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit for “Project S – Show Element” with a theming company called Brilliant Creative Fabrication. The permit is filed for the greenery area located directly in front of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind building.

As you may know, the new Guardians coaster is being built in the structure that used to hold Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Directly in front of the site, there’s a section of greenery that doesn’t currently have many elements (besides foliage).

It seems as if that “Project S” is Disney’s internal name for the Guardians of the Galaxy ride build. So, even though this permit is filed for nearby the attraction, it’s entirely possible that it’s a theming element that goes with the attraction!

Looking at concept art for the exterior of the upcoming attraction, there is a massive theming element located outside the building that looks to be over 30 feet tall. It’s possible that this will be installed in the area that this permit is referencing.

If it is, then it’s interesting to note that the permit refers to it as a “Show Element.” Will this piece have some sort of show actions like lighting and sound? Maybe! It certainly looks like a Star Blaster ship, as seen in both Guardians movies.

The contractor, Brilliant Creative Fabrication, is actually working on a few other parts of the EPCOT Transformation as well including part of the overhaul in Innoventions East.

Will we see the Star Blaster crop up in front of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind soon? It’s hard to say, but you can bet we’ll be keeping an eye out for it! As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney updates!
