Disney has been known to rotate its cocktails every now and then, and we’re not just talking about seasonal sips like the new (refreshing!) Earth Month cocktail at NoMad Lounge!
They’ll also bring back old favorites from time to time, and today we spotted a welcome friend at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
We spotted the Singapore Sling at Thirsty River Bar today in the Asia area of the park! This $12 cocktail features New Amsterdam Gin, Bols Cherry Brandy, Sweet-and-Sour, Grenadine, and Sprite! (It’s the same drink we spotted in 2018 but $2.50 more, because such is the way at Disney World.)
So, is this drink worth your $12?! We found it to be a really solid drink, thanks in large part to to the crisp lightness from the Sprite and fruit flavors from the grenadine. Our reporter doesn’t even particularly like you don’t like cherries but found this drink to be fruity and refreshing. The alcohol isn’t super present, so it’s an easy drink for those upcoming HOT summer days.
But we couldn’t help but think this drink needed…MORE?! Disney has been UPPING its cocktail game lately with totally Instagrammable drinks lately — we’re talking Mickey ears made out of lemons, drinks that look like rainbow fish tanks, and poofs of cotton candy! Beyond that, Animal Kingdom is THE place for snacks at Disney World right now with really unique looking and DELICIOUS treats. Comparably, this drink is just so PLAIN! We could at least use a little maraschino cherry or something in the top for a little pizzazz!
But if you’re not looking for something for your social media feed, this is a good option in Animal Kingdom for those who like sweet drinks and we would get this one again. And when more new cocktails come to Disney — with our without a photo-worthy element, we’ll let you know where to find them!
