We’re back in Disney Springs to try more food!

Valentine’s Day may be over, but we’re still on the hunt for new food in Disney Springs. And when we heard about the new Chicken & Waffles at The Polite Pig, we just had to give them a try. After all, these are TATER TOT waffles we’re talking about!

So we headed over to The Polite Pig to give them a try! While the indoor dining room, outdoor patio, and bar are all open, we opted for the outdoor seating for our adventure.

Those tater tot waffles are the Chef’s Special, and they’re officially listed as the Chicken & Waffles on the menu. And while they don’t come with a side, we did grab the Florida Strawberry Salad as well. This seasonal summery salad popped up on the menu just a few days ago, and can come as a side with select entrees.

Okay, let’s get tasting! The Chicken & Waffles comes with fried chicken, hot honey soy glaze, potato waffles, and zesty ranch.

First of all, the chicken was cooked SO well. It was crunchy and moist — everything we could ask for in fried chicken!

The potato waffle was also amazing, but we missed the sweetness that comes from a regular waffle and fried chicken combo.

Let’s talk glaze! The hot honey soy glaze definitely packed some heat, but it wasn’t too overwhelming. It did overpower the zesty ranch, so we could barely taste that at all. But we LOVED this glaze and even ordered some extra! However, if you’re heat adverse, ask for it on the side.

The Florida Strawberry Salad was also delicious! It comes with strawberries, baby greens, feta, granola, and sorghum dressing. We’ve gotta say, this is one of the best salads we’ve tasted in Disney yet.

It was fresh and flavorful, with big juicy strawberries and a great crunch from the granola. The dressing was nice and light, too! We recommend this for anyone looking for a healthier option or a light side dish.

The Chicken & Waffles were $16, and the Strawberry Salad was $6. Keep in mind it can also come as a side with certain entrees! Although these options are a bit pricier than your typical quick service, the quality is SO much better. As always, stay tuned to DFB! We’ll keep bringing you the latest Disney news and updates.
