It’s hard to believe that almost seven months after Disney World reopened, there are still many restaurants throughout the resort that remain closed.

Many dining locations have reopened over the past few months, although we’ve also seen some reopen with limited schedules, as well as others that are only open on weekends.
One restaurant that has not reopened is Nine Dragons Restaurant in EPCOT’s China Pavilion. Except that its dining room IS open now, but not in the way you might think. When we stopped by China’s counter-service spot Lotus Blossom Cafe today, we discovered something interesting after getting our food.

As always, there is seating available at Lotus Blossom Cafe.

But we got curious when we saw a sign for “Additional Seating.” So we followed it to see where it would take us.

We walked down the hallway and stumbled upon something familiar. It’s Nine Dragons Restaurant!

The additional seating for Lotus Blossom Cafe is inside Nine Dragons’ dining room. We’ve seen something like this before over at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and in EPCOT’s France pavilion.

And although Lotus Blossom Cafe didn’t really need extra seating today, it was nice to enjoy our meal in an environment with a little more atmosphere. It was SUPER empty, so if it’s open on your visit, this is a great place to escape the crowds.

So in case you find yourself at a crowded Lotus Blossom Cafe in the future, be sure to look for the additional seating sign that will take you into Nine Dragons! And if we spot any other situations like this, we’ll be sure to let you know.
